This is an occasion that every Muslim waits for, celebrates, does the shopping, and circumvents his neighborhood and relatives' house. But this time Eid is probably going to be different from afore. What is different this time in Eid?

The lockdown has been going on perpetually since March 24. But due to lack of jobs and business, poor and middle-class people have faced a plethora of trouble this time. Albeit in lockdown 4.0, the government has given assuagement to the people. But Rail, air peregrinate, shopping malls, theater, etc. are still suspended. Those who used to visit the house of their relatives to roam in Eid will probably have to optically canvass it in the house this time. Wearing incipient attire (such as kurta pajamas), and children ambulating to the fair with their family, making vermicelli and sharing neighborhood and relatives, reciting Eid prayers, and embracing each other after prayers is a symbol of brotherhood and unity, will not be possible this time due to lockdown.

When is Eid?

According to the Islamic calendar this year, Eid will be celebrated on May 23-24. The time of Eid depends on the moon. Eid is the first and only day in the month of Shawwal during which Muslims are not permitted to fast. It is determined by when the new moon is sighted by local religious
authorities.
